Hello! My name is Carrie Nolin – aka CarrieO. I live up north in the little cabin town of Minong, WI with my husband Greg (MuggleHubs) and our geo-pup, Leah. I’ve lived in the northwestern Wisconsin area for 20 years, although from 2014-2021 I lived in the twin cities while I worked as an assistant preschool teacher. In the fall of 2021 we decided to return to Minong full time.
I was introduced to Geocaching in 2008 when a couple good friends started caching and would occasionally invite me and my husband along. Being avid hikers and backpackers, it was only natural to look for caches while on day hikes and backpacking trips. It took me 10 years before I created my own account, and another year before I really started to take it seriously. In 2020, when schools were closed down and I was out of work, I really jumped into geocaching. I had so much fun discovering geocaches, finding new parks and neighborhoods I otherwise would never have gone. My favorite thing about geocaching has been just that – discovering new places! Another favorite aspect has been meeting like minded people from all walks of life; from folks who are die hard geocaching fanatics to those who find the occasional cache here and there.
I look forward to serving on the BOD in order to represent the northwest part of Wisconsin. I would love to help more people discover geocaching in this area.
