In fact I’m going to take my name off as moderator. Why? Because for the most part they don’t need to be moderated.
Thanks for the insight…point well understood!! I recind my suggestion. Dumb idea I guess LOL
PCfrog, I agree that being the moderator of a catagory and getting slammed would be tough, but that’s what I would think the rest of the Board would be there for….I hope.
Great feedback!!! Thanks bunches!

And I’d be interested to know how additional moderation would “help reduce future issues”?and now folks, here’s another reason that some board members fail to jump in on issues… our comments are somehow taken as being not from the member, but from the board. So I give you…

Hmmm not sure which end is up here… Yes it is true that topics posted in a forum don’t always get noticed and responded to by a Board Member then some get a lot of attention. It is a difficult task to go through them when life is as busy as it is.
…Does it really MATTER where we post Topics??? Probabley not…
Of course the forums get noticed by board members! Don’t think for one minute that there isn’t someone watching every post that is made here!
As for where to post topics, if that doesn’t matter, what’s the point of having different topic pages?

Yes I agree it is the responsibility of the entire Board to moderate the entire site, but why not trying specific people watching a specific area?…In the case of the Board.. YES, everyone watches all the “sheep” all the time, yet if they were to POSSIBLY work on a catagory individually they can call in the rest when the issue gets out of hand…
PS I agree.. too much time wasted “pissing” out the fires!!
Why do I feel like I’m reading what you post in circles? Oh, that’s right…it’s because you’re talking in circles! While pissing out fires ignited by your own posts perhaps?

Bing – Bing – Bing…. Richochet topic!I firmly believe that the majority of our members want friendly and positive discussions here. But we also have the “Jerry Springer” type crowd who enjoy the excitment of a so called heated “healthy” discussion. I don’t watch Jerry Springer, and usually turn the channel when the show appears in a forum…
Sometimes it appears like someone is just looking to start an arguement.
That’s nice Brian! What you deem as the “Jerry Springer” crowd, some of us deem as the ones making us think. What you see as “someone looking to start an arguement,” others see as someone asking a question.
The funny thing here is that while you think your comments is general, many of us know who you’re speaking of. What you’re not pointing out though, is the fact that if not for the blinders worn, and the fear of change that many or our WGA members (BOD included) held, we could get past a lot of things mentioned on this thread.
What may have seemed like a simple question to Jeff, insulted you and we went another direction.
What seemed like a simple explanation to you, seemed like a load of…well…something to PCFrog
What may have seemed like a confusing statement to FuFu, seemed like a “no-brainer” to me.
Bottom line for me is that we, as a body of members (BOD included) will never agree on everything. There will always be another side, another viewpoint, another discussion. People need to get over it and “change the channel” like you do.

01/31/2006 at 11:20 pm #1738774I’m sorry if my post sounded to some like an attack on Wizbit. It wasn’t meant that way at all. Some of you have not been around long enough to know what has really taken place here.
The fact is, Jeff is one of my favorite cachers of all time. It bothers me deeply to see what has become of his additude towards the WGA and certain board members. While there might be a good reason behind this, that is a much deeper story that only he can tell.
I think the people that know me also know that Jeff is welcome at my table anytime.
02/01/2006 at 11:14 pm #1738775My membership expired on January 31st. I didn’t know it would. I have just renewed it but want to know if my vote will count in the election, or if I’ll be wasting my time submitting one.
02/02/2006 at 5:30 am #1738776Thanks for steering this thread back on course HulaGirl87.
If you’ve renewed your membership before you vote, your vote will count.
Please take the time to vote, and thanks for asking.

02/04/2006 at 9:46 pm #1738777A status report on the election…
So far, 68 members have voted for their choices to fill the 4 board positions up for election. If you’re a WGA member and you haven’t yet voted, there’s still time. You have until midnight Feb. 12.02/05/2006 at 5:21 pm #1738778quote:

02/11/2006 at 4:57 pm #1738782Another reminder, if you haven’t voted, do it now! Right now, one vote could make the difference for some of the candidates.
02/12/2006 at 12:40 pm #1738783VOTE NOW!
Less than 24 hours remain for you to decide the future of the WGA.

02/13/2006 at 1:24 am #1738784It’s became apparent through the past few weeks of posts made on these forums that each and all of the candidates would make a great addition to the future of the WGA.
In a life that only offers us a little bit of time in this world, giving some of that time to an association such as this is no small offering. I thank each of those who have helped to make WI geocaching what it is.
Some amazing things have taken place here in the past few years. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our sport. It is the members of the geocaching community that will ultimately decide what the sport becomes. Hopefully, as a group, we can all push it in the right direction.
