I love cemetery caches. They, however don’t like me. I have more problems in cemeteries than any other place as far as my GPSr bouncing all over the place. I am willing to bet that about 70% of the time, I will have at least three different GZs more than 20ft apart. Personally I think there are quite a few practical jokers buried in these cemeteries, and when they see me coming, they know there will at least one more laugh.
It may not be your GPS. It helps if the solves for the finals on offset cemetery caches are accurate too!
08/17/2008 at 7:50 pm #1891974Well, a little over a month later and the count is now 807.
There a number of cachers in different parts of the state who have been putting out quite a few cemetery caches.
807 total
124 mine
683 others
389 found of the others (57%)Anyone else tracking their cemetery finds? anyone close to finding this high percentage?
Remember: INATNs!
08/18/2008 at 12:18 am #1891975I’m not sure what our count is but I did check out a few more areas today. Found some good points of interest to reference as WP’s. A little research, a little stealth, and it should be worth the drive! I try to publish more than 1, as marc does, to make the trip worthwhile. For some reason, we may hold off publishing any until early October…
08/18/2008 at 1:35 am #1891976I publish in bunches most of the time.
I have tried one a day, to play havoc with the FTFers, but that did not seem to work, so …..

We have visited 103 Cemeteries to date (I may have missed a few)
Several of these were out of state.08/18/2008 at 7:09 pm #1891978@zuma wrote:

hmmm…yes, the real difference between me and my husband when we cache. 😀 I’m the cacher. Bugs, what bugs? ha, ha. I get home…look at all them bug bites. Yikes.
09/28/2008 at 10:25 pm #1891979Cemetery caches now exceed 870 for the state. There are some new ‘players’ who have been placing them. And some older cachers have added new ones.
I have finished placing a cache in each cemetery in Outagamie County – or at least the ones I know of. Two ‘new’ ones today.
With a few other local cachers, there are now some 75 cemetery caches in the County.
Sagasu apparently is going to do the same for winnebago. Right? And gotta run is eyeing Shawano.
09/28/2008 at 10:32 pm #1891980Besides the traditional and multi caches in the cemeteries, I have placed a series of puzzle caches.
These are WSQ 477 thru WSQ 499.
They are puzzles only because you have to find something, such as a female veteran, in a cemetery somewhere.
The purpose of this series is to heighten your awareness of the many things that can be found in cemeteries.
Here is a list of the cache titles:
metal stones
petrified
family plot
angels
all in the family
veteran
grandmother
book of life
artwork
crypt
civil war nco
military brass
ashes to ashes
crosses
female veterans
pillars
poetry
something different
saints
statues
symbols
what’s missingCheck the cache page to find out exactly what is needed. Then go for a drive around the countryside.
09/29/2008 at 12:01 am #1891981We have 10 more cemetery caches approved and on hold, to be published on October 10th, in conjunction with our Event Cache on the 11th. A few puzzles and a few direct hides. It really is amazing to see the variety of markers out there. Thanks, marc, for calling attention to them! (New flag colors?)

09/29/2008 at 6:36 pm #1891984At first, I wasn’t a big fan of cemetary caches. It seemed a bid strange for me. But after time, I actually enjoy doing them. Most cemetaries are quiet and well maintain. The only problem can be if there are people there, that cache needs to be OFF LIMITS!!
