    Hi Everyone!

I thought I would share this with the group…

I went to check on one of my caches that hasn’t been found since October. It is in a location that not many people travel through, so I don’t expect a lot of finds anyways.

Here is a picture of the area I placed it (notice how many trees!)

The ground is finally drying out from the spring thaw so I know I could make it back to the cache with my 4×4. Upon arriving at the old logging road I found out that it is now a new logging road with fresh logging on the sides of old road. Right away I feared for the cache that it might have been found by the loggers and disappeared. The cache was in a multi-tree (Maple) and right next to the old road.

After making my way back through the rutted and still muddy old logging road, I came up to where my cache was and sure enough, the tree was gone!

This picture shows the same place as above, but with the trees cut (my truck is in the same spot in both pictures). The stump in the foreground was were my cache was hidden:

I looked all around the stump and couldn’t find the cache. I feared it was found and taken. Before leaving the area I wanted to take the picture of where it was so I could post it in the cache description. Just then I saw a corner of the ammo can! I pulled it out from under a pile of saw dust and bark. Upon further inspection I noticed that a chain saw (or a large robotic saw) that had cut the trees down has also cut into the ammo can!

Amazingly the contents of the cache were all still intact and dry.

To top it all off, on my way back to the truck I noticed fresh bear tracks that went right past my truck! Yikes!

Holy cow! That has to have been from one of those big felling machines, whatever the technical term for them is. I don’t think a saw would have made it that far through the can.

On the Left Side of the Road...

    LOL

There was nothing in the photo to show how big the prints were, so I laid my keys there for perspective.

If the bears can do what they do with Charmin, who’s to say they can’t drive. How else would the get to Wal-Mart for more Charmin?

Well, luckily for me he dropped the keys to my truck. Without them, I am not sure how I would have gotten home!

I keep hearing “Feller – Buncher” on Ax Men :?>

Well, now I can return that “come-along” that I bought after originally seeing this post.

You might want to keep it. I tend to put caches on fun 4×4 trails. 😈

VC’s idea of a park & grab is just a little different than most… 🙂
