Hey! After just completing CJ’s Challenge, and him just dissing it, what are we to think??? 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯
08/21/2011 at 1:50 am #1952103I only posted that one to give it a whirl. I was going to archive it, but it appears to be getting pretty good reviews.
This one could lend itself to a more involved “virtual” style cache, but I’m saving that for another one of those “I have an idea for a puzzle cache”. (i.e. Skip the picture and send me the following from the marker)
I should also clarify. I don’t plan on logging any challenges as they currently stand as they just aren’t my thing. I also think the current implementation is pretty lame and seems way more like waymarking to me which I don’t do either.
08/21/2011 at 2:00 am #1952104No problem  Actually, though we may have done yours ‘someday’, we did it today as it was a Reference Point for a new S|S puzzle cache. Great minds think alike, in some ways?

You’re right there. I caught S|S in the act a while ago taking photos of the cache you did today. In fact I believe it’s one of the interesting facts I mentioned to him then that made up the first question. We were both thinking up caches for these exact 2 monuments, but he did a better job on both than I could have done.

No one will ever know. No responsibility involved. 😕
08/22/2011 at 2:45 am #1952113On page 10 of the groundspeak forum thread regarding challenges I came across an interesting counter-argument to those who don’t want these “counting” towards their find counts.
The prior virtuals, events, mega events, CITO events, webcams, GPS adventure exhibits, (and I would add Earth Caches) are also not geocaches (i.e. not containers hidden at coordinates to be found with a GPS and a log signed). Why should they count and these new ‘challenges’ should not?
Just an interesting perspective thrown in the mix.
They’re obviously not ideally developed but there’s some potential to testing out the “peer review model” behind these.
They really should be “owned” and have attributes, additional waypoints, hints, etc like a “real cache page”.

It’s weird how some list who created it while others do not. Don’t know if this is a bug or intentionally working this way.
The one I created doesn’t show I created it. But it’s obvious by the name 😉

I have to agree, and have always thought that too.
08/22/2011 at 10:39 am #1952116I did the TJ challenge. I wanted to put one really close to Lady Liberty and had just been to Tom to check out his plaque to see if any info could be used for a cache I adopted.
Guess this was one that didn’t show the name.
