Nice challenge. Next time I am in the area, the family and I will most likely do this one.
08/19/2011 at 6:01 pm #1952073You all have WAY too much time on your hands! 8 pages of thread in less than a day. Not bad.
As for the challenge caches, they look a bit lame to me. Maybe I’ll do a challenge cache where you have to take a picture on the roof of Muggle B’s house! Now that would be fun! Probably needs to be a public place though….
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.
08/19/2011 at 6:09 pm #1952074Should be a new Neenah Challenge close to Lady Liberty’s. A virtual cahllenge power trail in the works?
Following the signals from space.
08/19/2011 at 7:06 pm #1952075Other Challenge Ideas:
-
– Eating 5 socks
– Carry 14 hamsters in your left pocket while whistling dixie and drinking from a dixie cup on the steps of town hall
– Send this challenge to 10 of your friends and get a smiley. Or don’t and be infected by an alien virus that turns your face blue and causes you to sing Johnny “Cache” songs until you faint
– Smear a melted bar of chocolate on your friends face while they sleep on the couch
– Collect 37 of your friends nose hairs in a box
– Make a jar of canned pickles and bury them at the given coordinates (or wherever you feel like)
– Mold a marzipan version of signal the frog and drop it off the empire state building
– Follow the path of Pee Wee as he looked for his lost bicycle
– Make a dolphin sandwich
– Stand on the steps of Kremlin and sing the Star Spangled Banner
– Jump off a bridge
– Buy a big can of “Brand Name” stuff
– Throw a child in the bear pit at the zoo
– Stand here
– Play a joke on someone by telling them their puppy died🙄
08/19/2011 at 7:07 pm #1952076Also learned you can’t delete them once they are archived. Did the one about FTP, just to “play”and try to figure out what it was about. Went to get rid of it today and the site won’t let us because it is archived.

Yup, accepted that challenge as well. Now I’m stuck with it.
08/19/2011 at 7:42 pm #1952078Take the number and run. 😉 We were gone the past couple days and missed the early stuff, so we will probably just keep it that way!
08/19/2011 at 7:52 pm #1952079It’s not a “find” for me. I had accepted the challenge, but hadn’t marked it complete. Now it just sits there in the challenges page and laughs at me. Not too much of a problem as I don’t plan on utilizing this portion of the website, but plans might change.
08/19/2011 at 8:59 pm #1952080Thanks, Jeremy for blowing off 1,489 votes. (at least that’s the tally right now)
08/19/2011 at 9:09 pm #1952081I wash my hands of all challange caches unless there is a container involved with a log I have to sign. I logged a Two of them with what I thought was a funny comment. Well what I think is funny must be way off cus one archived his and complained, the other says not accepted. These challange things are just a way for groundspeak to get people to spend more time on there site.
I had a challange that I asked you to put a flag by a veterans grave and the frog archived it. Go figure a challange that had a real meaning and they shut it down.
Sorry if i offended either of the two I logged, they were meant to be a joke, (not saying the ones I logged were jokes) just like the challange portion of the groundspeak site.08/19/2011 at 9:14 pm #1952082I find myself wondering if now is the time for opencaching to have a new flurry of listings on their site to make it finally viable and give a little pressure to the frog

That was in the first hour.
08/19/2011 at 9:19 pm #1952084Some of these have a first log that says who created it. Some do not. Was this a system change?? The one I created you can’t even tell who created it. But some of the others you can tell based on that first log.
08/19/2011 at 9:19 pm #1952085I was just looking at OpenCaching again today. Looks like they’re shooting themselves in the foot as well. Apparently they are promoting auto-logging caches with your garmin GPS device once the device is in the vicinity of the cache. LAYME!
Part 2:
CAST YOUR VOTE!!!
