I was wondering if there is something you would like to see changed or modified about the WGA to make the WGA a better orginization?

Even though they say the quadrant idea for events has been put in place, would like to make sure that a event happens somewhere north of 64 or even highway 8

    1) I would like to see a “prettier”, more visually appealing and user-friendly webpage, especially the main page. However, I have no knowledge about how to do this, the time commitment it would take, or what limitations we have regarding our web hosting or whatever (This is not my area of expertise at all).

    2) I would like to see the WGA use our resources to lend more support to local events to help educate the public and recruit more volunteering members.

    3) I’d like to see a more complete and accessible list of cache hiding regulations and other useful resources that would make our website a more “must-visit” site for Wisconsin cachers.

    4) I’d hope that newsletters and board actions are reported to the general membership in a timely fashion.

    5) I think the photo on our front page was a nice addition because it made the page more personal and inviting. Perhaps this could be expanded to a “caching photo of the week” type of thing if members were interested in submitting their caching photos, sort of like how some TV station weathermen display cool weather photos each day.

as far as change goes, I would like to see the WGA help out with more regional events. We did have a few this past year, and While that is great, I would like to see more.

I would also like to see the WGA Get involved in doing some more for the state parks that allow us to hold our events there. In the past, we have done some Garlic Mustard Pulls, and purchased GPS’s for the parks to use. I feel that this helps us maintain our good standings.

I would also like to see more members get involved in the WGA. This includes helping with presentations, setting up, and tearing down for WGA Events, and helping to educate people on what geocaching is, and what it offers.

These are a few things that I would like to see changed.

Some changes I would like to see in the WGA would be:

    * More use of the various committees.

    * Take care of our adopted highway

    * Increased involvement by the general membership of the WGA

I’m not sure what “changes” I would like to see but there are a few ideas that could be brought up to see if they would fly or not.

–> Pushing the CITO events to the next level by having more of these events and promoting them not only within Geocaching but within the general public.

–> Having some of the WGA’s seasoned Geocaching 101 instructors hold training sessions on how to effectively explain and teach about geocaching.

–> Having the Membership committee plan to make contact with new cachers to introduce the WGA, as well as contacting those who have been around but have not been made aware of the WGA.

I am sure there will be more ideas that come up as the membership voices there needs and wants in the forums.

Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.

For me this is the toughest of the questions posted thus far.

I could be quick to re-post my ideas for improvement that are scattered amongst my posts. I urge all of you to review those other posts for the many ideas I have for improvement of the WGA, many of which I can and will act on as a board member.

But more importantly, What would I like to see changed?

I would like to see the WGA be more proactive in ‘recruiting’ Wisconsin residents to Geocaching and to the WGA. For our members to reach out through education opportunities, regional events, and community outreach volunteer opportunities to help others find out about geocaching. I think our group could get more involved in this and ensure our own success for years to come. Without new geocachers, we cannot even think about new member growth.

I’ve seen how the general public responds to our events and to our geocaching educational classes and the potential is there to grow these things and be extremely successful.

One of our founding goals is to “educates the public at large about geocaching”. I’d like to see this expanded to include introducing the public at large to geocaching and to our group.

    Thanks for the question jerrysdad.
