Is there no longer a West-Central region??? It shows it on the map but not in the polls.
That is correct. There are now 4 quadrants for the COTM. Unfortunately there has been some difficulty in getting the image updated on the COTM page.

07/22/2018 at 2:20 pm #2060202We were notified in May that our Chapel in the Woods cache was one of the April COTMs. I inquired about the html code, and there was a glitch being worked on. I’d like to put the banner on the cache page, am wondering if the code is available yet. Thanks a lot. Cya, Grandpa

Yes, this is still being worked on. Thanks for your patience.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.
Where's George? Stimulating the economy one EMS'ed dollar at a time.

Auburndale

07/23/2018 at 11:32 am #2060208The perks of a Board position, Jim? I wonder if it could become Waupaca if one of us ran… 🙂 kidding, of course! Cya, Grandpa Jim
07/23/2018 at 4:45 pm #2060209The details on the map are really small and hard to read. Apparently Oconto is in the NE quadrant but Green Bay is not? And where does the dividing line come out on the far western part of the state? My daughter lives over there and I do a certain amount of caching in the area.
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)

LOL! Actually the decision to use this map was made before I was on the board.

Correct, Oconto is NE but Green Bay is SE. If you draw a line from Auburndale through Durand to the west and through Algoma to the east, you will be pretty close.

There were no definitive lines of what the quadrants were so in 2017 the formal lines of the quadrants were drawn.

07/24/2018 at 5:32 pm #2060224There’s gonna be some pretty stiff competition for the Green Bay caches against all the Milwaukee area caches. I was talking to someone at the Hodag who said the geograpical center of the state was in Pittsville, but all the evidence I found pointed to Auburndale.

Pittsville is said to be the center when it really is Auburndale.

12/03/2018 at 10:16 am #2061323Ok I want all members to re think for COTM changing back to 1 cache per the entire state. It’s rare to have all areas select or nominate even 1 cache. This last November, not a single cache was nominated. When I oringally joined the WGA, I tried to search out and find the COTM caches even if that meant I had to drive 200 miles. I am again resurrecting the debate and feel 1 per month is enough.
12/03/2018 at 10:52 am #2061324Participation in COTM really dropped off when the Mothership instituted Favorite points. I do look for those on caches when we are planning a hunt in a new area. I do value COTM status on some of ours, and display the banners on the page when I can get the html coding. Still waiting on one from last spring… hint, hint… cya, Grandpa
