I want to change some coordinates for a cache. It is more than a few feet away. What is the protocol?
w-way
Go to the cache page for your cache. In the upper right, in the green box for “Log your visit”, click to get a drop-down menu. For “Select type of log”, go to “Update Coordinates”. Then you can put your new coordinates in there. This works only if the new coordinates are around 500 feet or less from the original coordinates.
If you need to change your coordinates a greater distance, this will have to be done through a reviewer. You need to scroll down to the bottom of all the logs on your cache to find the reviewer who published your cache. Click on the profile to send an email (not a message) to the reviewer, stating the cache name and GC number, the old coordinates, the new coordinates, and a brief description of why you need the coordinates changed.
If you are unsure how far away your new coordinates are from the old, just try to change them yourself. If they are too far, the site will tell you and advise you to go through a reviewer to get them changed.
