Hey all,
I’m not going and have no interest in this but I will pimp good work when I see it. Start looking at the appleton area now, several new permanent caches have just come out and a couple more are in the wings for approval hopefully by the weekend.
Some are puzzles, start looking now!

BOYCOTT TEMPS!! GO PERM! π
05/10/2009 at 11:47 am #1907637While I agree with Mike about taking a look at all the new perms in the Sherwood area (not many being placed in appleton) I highly disagree about the note on temps.
A great group of people put a lot of work and thought into some very creative temp hides in High Cliff. They take you to some great parts of the park. Some took HOURS to setup. Also, we scattered temps and new permanents so that you can do them both on your hikes through the park. Why not do both? You might have some fun. What’s the difference really? Geocaching is geocaching regardless of getting to log your find. You can always log about your overall event experience on your event log.
I have hidden both temps and permaments for this event. In total I will have hidden approximately 10 new caches (maybe a couple more than that). Only 4 are temps. However, they are all caches that I was proud to put my name on and hope are found by many. I also know that some temps will become perms as well this time around if they are not already perms.
I urge everyone to have fun geocaching at the event and not make political stances on logging temp caches. I for one would hate to have to respond personally to these because it would simply mean that I would not participate again if a future WGA event comes near in the future. I am sure no one in our group would like that type of response from our volunteers who work hard to put on a great event (which includes placing permanent new caches and maintaining them).
I know that my son and I will enjoy walking the trails and finding many geocaches next weekend. See you all there!!
05/10/2009 at 12:02 pm #1907638And for a convenient list of perms (both old and new) surrounding the high cliff state park check out: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=0e8545b9-e157-480c-9258-f19262d41c8b
I am adding new caches everyday as they come out.
And if you are wondering what other caches to do while in the appleton area why not give a few of these a try: (shameless bookmark list plug)

05/13/2009 at 3:18 pm #1907639FYI – there are still more perm caches to come. If you miss them you might miss out on a shot at an FTF π

Isn’t Dave camped out at high cliff already with a WiFi card in the laptop and the car running?

2 more to add to your list π
The KFC will be in the campout materials anyway but if you check out the other puzzle you should have the coords in hand in just a minute π Make sure you read the interesting history lesson if you’re into local small-town history like I am.
This puzzle is for those of you who are afraid of puzzle caches…
