Well, I guess that I would be still considered a rookie with just over 100 finds. I have been caching since July of 2006. Some info about me:
Besides geocaching, I like to grouse and pheasant and deer hunt and fish. I also enjoy camping and canoeing. I use to dabble in wedding photography. I enjoy reading mystery and suspense novels and cooking with my grill and Dutch ovens.
I was a 25+ year volunteer of the American Birkiebiner Ski race and a race chief for 9 years. I started at age 10 doing baggage as a cub scout and worked almost every aspect of the race. I have also volunteered for the Pre-Birkie ski race, The Seeley Hills Classic race, the Chequamagon Fat Tire Bike race, the Pre-Fat and also volunteered for the Hayward Musky Festival and the Hayward Fall Fest.
I was on the banquet committee of the local chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society for 2 years. I helped plan, set up and get donations for the banquet.
I was on the Relay for Life committee for 3 years and also helped plan, set up, get donations and was one of the DJ’s for the event.
With the help of one of the Wisconsin Reviewers, I was able to work with the National Park Service to place caches along the National Scenic River Way that was not on NPS property. I will add that the Park service is reviewing their stance on geocaching along the river way and were to be holding a meeting this month. The local NPS law enforcement officer is for geocaching and was to recommend a change to the NPS stance on the issue.
If elected to the WGA BOD, I would try to get the WGA to be about the WHOLE state of Wisconsin. To help set up regions so there is a representation from each region. I would defiantly like to see a few more WGA sponsored events in regions and areas that do not have a high concentration of geocachers that do not belong to the WGA.
There are many qualified candidates who will do a great job for the WGA.
