Let’s support our CITO hosts by attending an event this year. Here is one in your area. Remember, leave no footprints, take only memories.

Date(s) – 04/23/2017

According to the Earth Day website: “Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection.”
For more information, please visit the Earth Day website
It’s all about knowing the importance of keeping our environment protected and acting upon our knowledge. We hope you can join in on the 47th anniversary of earth day by helping to pick up trash throughout Sheridan Park with provided trash bags. (Please bring your own gloves, if desired.) We will also have a limited number of designated areas in the park for those who prefer assigned areas.
We will have water and snacks. If you would like to bring a snack or beverage to share, that would be wonderful.
There are a number of existing caches that are available at or near the park. To keep with the CITO theme and intention, our focus for this event will be on trash pick up.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
Each person who logs an “Attended” for a CITO event between April 22-30th this year earns a 2017 CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
