Glad to see there’s some friendly competition here in WI. But there’ll be 250 winners, so it is all good. I’ve got everything figured out except the cache I’m going to place, and I’m waiting for a FTF. Not much I can do about that one, so I’m a little jealous of the Puppies right now.
I’m headed up to Eau Claire for an event this weekend. Originally, I wanted to attend but wasn’t going to as I’m traveling up there again for the holidays. But now I’m going.
As for finding a cache with 3 digits the same: I did it the hard way, but was told that GSAK makes it easy.

* * * * * * * * * *11/17/2005 at 8:48 pm #1740999I have 7 waiting for approval right now and got the FTF. Gotta get the Event and the triple digit thingy too. grrrrrrrrr Otherwise I’m set already Heading to Florida.. maybe there is at least ONE triple digit down there. Unless Locationless caches are accepted….Hmmmmmmmmm I shall assume NOT ,since they want the WPT call letters for the caches.

11/17/2005 at 9:36 pm #1741000Locationless do not count, everything except the virtual needs to have a log book.
I’m sure you all have already done the 3digits in the area, but we haven’t yet, so I found 5 of them within 60miles of us (mt horeb)
The eau claire event is abit far for such short notice
You can ask them if that cache will count for the cave one, they are very quick with their responses in the GC forums (the coin forum is where its at… ‘250 free coins’)
I think we have choices for everything except the event now.

Anything for you guys!
re events: CB&MB are talking about an event on 12-10 in Kenosha. Hopefully, the game won’t be over by then.
Fu: have fun in Florida! We just got back from there. Don’t know if you are planning to be near Delavan any time soon, but that is where I got my triple-digit cache.

* * * * * * * * * *11/18/2005 at 2:45 pm #1741003It would only count if it is listed on GC though, I know some of theirs haven’t been listed there lately
Mike of team: Not So Lost Puppies11/18/2005 at 5:19 pm #1741004They listed their last breakfast, but they don’t do the Team Badger outings as they don’t qualify. I think there’s food involved in this one, so they might list it but I don’t know for sure.
But it’s a moot point cuz you guys are going to Eau Claire! Meet ya there!
Team LightningBugs
* * * * * * * * * *11/18/2005 at 8:13 pm #1741005I thought you have to list events 2 weeks in advance .. meaning if you wanted something before 12/2 now .. it is too late ..
How fancy of an event do you need? Just contact a restaurant type place and have a meeting .. could even call it the Coin Quest meet up!
11/18/2005 at 8:24 pm #1741006yes, we are now planning on making it up there, maybe do some caching on the way back as well. have to check and see what is along the interstate and what qualifies for the quest
Hope to see you there.
I would still be willing to see about doing a paperless as well if there is interest (see the other paperless thread for that)

Yes, the event will be listed on the Groundspeak site (given TPTB approve it). It is being written as we speak…I’m just waiting for a bit of info to post with the page.
Thanks for the “plug” Jennifer!

Digital_Dan was thnking the same idea. As long as it is listed, I think it qualifies is all. Doesn’t say anything about how many people need to come or what needs to happen.
I’ll have a lil event all to myself. ROFLMBO
11/21/2005 at 4:42 pm #1741009While it isn’t anywhere near us, this one qualifies for all but 4 of the tasks
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=917a64d2-8281-4073-bd04-aa74 79b5291ethere are about 4 other caches specifically for the quest, search for keywords coin quest
Got our event cache at Eau Claire last weekend, as well as the cave, and dog caches.
(Jesus’ Tomb and Old King)
[Old King was also our 100th cache]Only 6 left to find, but due to the 24hr rule, we only have 5 in the game. But that means we don’t have to do any during the week.
And thanks to Team LightningBugs, we got our statue Sunday. Sunday trip also netted us 3 digits, Little girls cache, and a 2003.
Even with my Palm crashing, lucky we had already entered the coordinates into the GPSr. (I didn’t have any that far away on my SD card in the GPRs yet, so we manually put these quest ones in enroute)

That’s hilarious!
Oh, and glad we could assist you in your mission.

* * * * * * * * * *11/21/2005 at 10:33 pm #1741011BTW, we picked up 6 of the requirements over the weekend (event, dog, river, view, 2003, FTF). Woo-hoo!
