Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have provided inspiration and encouragement while we pursued and achieved this memorable milestone! As sloughfoot comments, the opportunities do thin out as you go and are required to travel further and make a game plan from day to day to make a find. It got tougher to have a back up plan in the same county as the days went by.
This streak started on February 4 with our second FTF and a notion to try to do a cache every day for the rest of the month. Over six months later we were shooting for 200 days after an earlier goal of 100 was accomplished, and sloughfoot, who had done 100 himself, gracefully encouraged us to continue as long as we could. That we have certainly done.
Talk of 300 or 365 aside, and comparisons to the energizer bunny that remotely resembles Tom Selleck taken in stride (scary thought, hey?), 200 was enough, yet momentum carried us a few days beyond that till almost all caches findable in a 25 mile range were found. Or maybe it was fear that we could have miscounted a dozen times or so that carried us to 205.
It is now time to rest and savor the run. Thanks for being a part of it and especially to each of you who commented in this forum for some of those 200 caches, as well as many others who placed the other caches and offered encouraging words on this journey.
