While I was not able to attend the Waukesha Winter JanBoree Geocaching in person, I wanted to congratulate the Tapps/ Brian Tapp and AuntieNae/ Renee Vanselow-Tapp for hosting another great event.
While not there, I felt like I was. I listen to Michael Feldman’ Whaddya Know on Saturday mornings whenever I can, and as I drove down to the LGG event, Michael Feldman was broadcasting live from Carrol University in Waukesha. One of his guests was the mayor of Waukesha, who talked quite a bit about the Waukesha Winter JanBoree and all the stuff going on in Waukesha Saturday.
I especially wanted Renee to know that the Mayor of Waukesha spent several minutes bragging up how great the parks and rec department is in Waukesha. He said something along these lines, “They think the parks should be used by the people and they do a lot of great things to get people into the parks more.”
Very cool.

Ralph, Thanks for sharing that…we’d hoped to get to this event, as it’s always been a fun time, but the lousy weather on our end early in the day kept us sticking around home…..and wishing that weather had gone elsewhere.
Congrats on what has become a geocaching tradition in the state!
Ah ….. does Renee work in Waukesha?

I believe she lives in Waukesha, works in Greenfield Park & Rec
It is a great event and it was the 6th annual…so it’s been around awhile.
The JanBoree is sponsored by the Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry (Sue Harter). The Tapps and AuntieNae host the geocaching event (event hides, treasure hunter caches, virtuals etc.) of the JanBoree. So I say, “thanks to them as well.” Looking forward to next year JanBoree. Tami
