I have been working with Bong State Rec Park to contact all of the cache owners with existing caches in the area to inform them of the controlled burns for the spring/summer, so that the caches can be removed before any damage is done to them. I have contacted each individual owner via email, but only owners of active caches. If you have a cache that is disabled, or archived that you have not removed, please do so as soon as possible. If anyone would like a copy of the burn schedule map, please contact me and I’ll be happy to email one to you.
This is a good opportunity to invite all of you to contact your local parks to find if they have any controlled burns coming up this year as well. From the sounds of it, this year much of the state will be having burns in an attempt to get rid the invasive species taking over our parks. Now is the time to find out before you lose your favorite cache. If you do find a controlled burn in your area, please share it on this thread so that others can know about it.
