Headed from either the La Crosse or Winona (What IS the status on that bridge??) area up to Apostle Islands over an extended Fourth of July holiday. Any “must do” caches on the north shore or enroute? Thanks in advance!

Any of the WWF series placed by Little Otter are nice en route. Are there any on the islands themselves? Have fun!

The Winona bridge is open. Lots of great caches between Winona and the Apostle Islands. Too many to choose from, in fact. Do you know your general route?

It all depends on the way you come up. But once you you get up there, there are many to choose from. I highly recommend Point Detour, it’s one of my favorites. There are 2 that I have not found yet but hope to soon. Lost Falls and Twin Falls Cave. Both are to be very good cache location. You might want to PM Passing Wind. He lives in Bayfield or Washburn. He could tell you what one to hit.

As for the trip up, it all depends if your going to come up Mn 35,WI 53 or WI 63

Would HIGHLY recommend Twin Falls Cave near Port Wing. Beautiful little known waterfall and park very close to the highway. If coming up 35 check out Eddyed’s caches in Pattison State Park. Nice waterfalls and caches if you have time for a couple short walks.
