Man, the only thing we find under picnic tables are paper wasps nests.
On the Left Side of the Road...10/28/2008 at 2:10 pm #1897305Wow, that is pretty cool. Especially since the contest had been going on for over a year. I wonder what cache that was and how many people found the cache while the car contest was going on… so close 🙂 It’s every geo-cacher dream comes true… find a REAL treasure! 😮

Hey I find real treasure every time I see a used golf ball in a cache.
10/29/2008 at 12:52 am #1897310Whew! Glad to know it was just the key that was hidden! A car under a picnic table? Yeah, we’d probably score a DNF on that one, with our luck.
Looks like “micros” are in for cars, too.
10/29/2008 at 1:52 pm #1897311Yes, it was cool that the car was won by a geocacher. I was pulling for Iowa geocachers to get out there and look for the key, figuring they would have an advantage because they search the parks for likely places where it might be hidden. See posts about it here:

10/29/2008 at 4:26 pm #1897313Back in the day I recall a few people hiding treasures (money / jewels) then selling books to folks so they could hunt the treasure. I always wanted to do that so when Geocaching came round…..
In any case how do we get one of these types of hides repeated in Wisconsin…DNR? Magazine? Newspaper? Even a nice bundle of money would be nice….
The BETHERE contests held by Magellan a few years ago were kinda like this…..
