Creating "tabs" on profile page

I’ve seen some folks who have somehow created tabs on their gc profile page. So you look at their profile and there might be the basics, then the “tabs” for folders underneath, that you can click to see what’s there.

How in the world is this done? I enjoy reading others’ stuff on the profile, but don’t want to “clutter” ours with stuff others may not really give a rip about. The tabs would let us play with our inner voyeuer if wanted, but ignore meaningless details as well. LOL To both of us, the most important thing on that page is the photo of us each holding a grandbaby. The other stuff means nothing at all, but I know I enjoy seeing that stuff and discovering what others have done.

I don’t recall ever seeing this. Can you provide a User as an example and I’ll be happy to take a look.

I’ll look into the “how” part. I didn’t think this was possible on profile pages any longer…

Brian, That’s not the one I saw (nor can I find it now), but it’s the same idea. I’m sure it’s some sort of html trick and I do know about “view source,” so I suppose I could start with that but my brain is fried from a challenging read for my book club right now!

Why not send a note to that guy to see what he did? Maybe it’s some program that no one around here uses.

Not necessarily any “tricks” but it appears to be using some “scripting” to hide / show certain blocks of HTML. I’ve sent the users an email asking how he did it. It definately appears to be generated code, so I’m assuming there’s a piece of software out there that generates this. I’ll post more if / when I hear back.

I believe one of the GSAK stats macros builds HTML that divides the stats up by “tab”. Not sure what exactly because I don’t use this.

its a technique called sliding door page generation. But for the life of me I cant figure out how he is doing it without using java

HTML and Style Sheets are NOT my forte, but the magic seems to be happening here:

I don’t think this is something you would want to code by hand. There are some “free” editors that can handle CSS. I have no idea which ones are any good.

team black cat you have tabs that say where youve cached and your mile markers. how did you get them? where do you get the code and where do you past it. im taking about on here the wga profile.
