I just wanted to inform the regional forum that my new series of caches within Crex Meadows has been published. The series has 10 stand-alone caches which each give a coordinate to the final (11th) puzzle cache. The series is all in a Spongebob Squarepants theme (per the suggestion of my kids).
Crex Meadows is Wisconsin’s largest Wildlife preserve with over 30,000 acres. It includes a central refuge area and 2 additional separate State Natural Areas. The area is so large that the puzzle cache can have 10 puzzle coordinates as even the first digit has a variation of 3 digits. I hope the series will showcase much of its natural beauty. The best times of year to visit would be the spring and the fall. A few of the caches would be difficult to find in deep snow and the gravel roads are not maintained the best during the winter so this is probably not the best time to travel. Right now there is only a dusting of snow on the ground. I have been working on this series for nearly 3 months so I am publishing it now.
To encourage people to find the caches, I have placed a $25 gift certificate to Adventures Restaurant (in Siren, Rice Lake and Osceola) in the final cache.
I hope people enjoy these caches. 🙂
Do people think that this is an acceptable usage of the regional forums? ❓ This is the limit of the promotion of my own caches. I envision promotion is most likely for either unusual caches or series of caches which are just published (until these forums are used in a different way).

Yup! That’s what they are for. I am working a couple of different series that are going to be different. This will be a good place to bounce off ideas and such. Once life slows down a bit, I’ll see if I can get down there and attempt those new ones.

That dang GPS_JUNKY cheated. I did the 1st six caches with him and his gal and then went on a ski trip to Colorado. He finished the series before we got back. I think he at least owes me a drink! This is a great series.
Thanks ELFDOCTORS! -
