And, be sure to have a full charge on your cell phone just in case you need to call the Medivac.
So the reason they are 5-star terrains is the special equipment needed is a caching partner and a cell phone??? 🙂
I predict these 2 will never be found by me. I am a wimp and pale in comparison to the guts and determiniation that Curly Girl Lisa has…

I remember a brave soul conquering a squall out on the great Winnebago in nothing but a battered canoe.

My original plan was to make the trip for my 1K tomorrow (Monday) on my day off of work with my husband. Glad that I went when I did! Look at all the snow we have now!
The swamp was a challenge and I was glad to have seldom|seen there as my guide. He was quick in that marsh, almost too quick! We lost contact a few times and I grew very tired blazing a trail in the tall marsh grass. After a while, I took off my snowshoes and took a break from the exhausting work with those big gadgets on. I have to admit, there was a moment when I was having visions of a hovercraft or Theda-Star come to my rescue. It was a bit nerve-racking (yeah, and probably insane) to be out there in the marsh wandering around on that rotten ice. I wanted so bad to be the first girl to find this cache….
Well, persistence paid off and not long after taking off the snowshoes, I found myself reunited with my guide and we had discovered the cache!
I was so happy to be on our way back and got a bit anxious and ended up breaking through to my knees. Darn the luck! Thankfully seldom|seen was close by and grabbed the big walking stick I had brought and pulled me out. Snowshoes went back on then! I was surprised that I did not get too cold and had the wet stuff on for about an hour before I got to take it off.
Since we were all geared up, we managed to look for and find the (in)famous SSSS, the other 5/5 cache. It was all quite an adventure! I even had to leave a party early to meet up with s|s, and I sure was not going to tell anyone where I was going or what I was doing for fear they would think I was NUTS!!!
So now that the 1K is done, I have to feed my geo-appetite and look for opportunities to make some progress on my maps! I think Santa is even going to give me a trip to Denver this year! I have a plan all thought out that will maximize and give me 7 more states for my caching map! Now all I need to do is talk Grandma into watching the kids for a week! That is going to be the hard part! Maybe even harder to do than find 2 caches in the swamp! 😀
