When we looked out our window this morning, the fog didn’t seem too bad, so we were all set and in the car, heading up to do some caching around Augusta.
One mile down I-90 and we couldn’t see one block in front of us. So it looks like we might have to be satisfied today to do a little cache maintenance later and face the reality of all our incomplete chores around the house.
Sigh.
Birdin’, put down the mouse and step away from the computer……
We did, we went out to do freaking maintenance on some of our caches and had an adventure almost as crazy as yesterday’s!
Note to self: do not go into the woods when visibility is around 30 feett and you can’t see your landmarks. Ay caramba!
Geocaching Lessons # 142, 147 and 217: Waymark the car!
Geocaching Lessons 1,2,4,9,and 12: Make sure the coordinants are loaded BEFORE you leave the computer!
And then there’s learning the hard way, via the “Trekkin’ and Birdin” School of Geocaching.” Not for the faint of heart nor weak of grip.
“…Just right back and you’ll hear a tale…”
“…A tale of a fateful trip…”
“…That started from this tropic port…”
“…Aboard this tiny ship…”
Oh NO!!
Oh, we had the coordinates. Just never bothered to waymark things like “the tree where the trail goes down in the valley.” Normally we could see it from the parking lot, LOL
I am so sore all over today. I’ve NEVER been this worn down. Methinks maybe it has something to do with the wild company I’ve been keeping! 😉
Tha scary part? A caching day like yesterday is not that unusual for us. Be afraid. Be very afraid!
Yeah, that’s a slow day when caching with Lagrac! I have come to expect at least three broken nails, and not being able to walk the next coupla days. This time was good! Not a problem! Oh, God, I’m getting better! Waa Hoo!
