Due to what I believe to be a career ending shoulder injury thanks to a fall from my roof, I find myself looking for other sources of revenue. I have been carving Diamond Willow Hiking Staffs as a hobby for years. Would you like a custom carved Hiking Staff? Christmas is coming you know!

I’ve got a website that has all the info: http://diamondwillow.homestead.com

Sorry to hear about the fall!! I pray the recovery goes well.

Do you have any walking sticks that are tough enough to use as an ice/snow breaking club?? I sure could have used one while caching on the 12/03.

Sure, a heavy shillelagh with a metal tip would do that. Honestly, I use my regular shillelagh with it’s rubber tip for everything, including digging through ice, water or logs.

I’d like to thank all the kind words from folks about my staffs and all the well wishes for my shoulder. I make about 2 new staffs per day and have added a bunch to my website http://diamondwillow.homestead.com It’s good therapy and I’m really enjoying it.

I get to go up to Froedert on Tuesday to see if anything more can be done – right after a dentist appointment – fun fun.

I would just like to post a public Thank You to Roger for his staff making skills.

I am the lucky owner of Rogheff’s 200th Hide Walking stick, which I love. But about 2 weeks ago, we contacted him about making a cane for my Mother-In-Law, to replace the sterile looking aluminum one given to her by the hospital over a year ago.

Roger brought the completed cane by yesterday, and I was just amazed. It’s exactly what we asked for, and it turned out perfect. When TDSGal got home from work, she loved it as much as I did.

Most importantly, We had her Mother over for dinner last night, to present her with the new cane. She broke down in tears after seeing her favorite song (actual sheet music scrolling around the staff) burned into the cane.

She LOVES it Roger! Thank you so much!!!

Also, a big thank you for the effort you put into carving our team logo onto our walking stick. I wasn’t sure how all that detail of the Celtic pattern would turn out, but it looks great, we couldn’t be happier.

Anyone considering having Roger carve them up a staff or cane ought to jump on the chance now. Once word gets out on how nice these really are, Roger’s going to be a busy guy. 100 years from now, these things will be showing up on Antiques Roadshow!
