There are ways to make your own maps for your garmin gps, but its a lengthy process and to complicated for most.
While researching these steps I stumbled onto this website, This guy has made some great maps of Colorado and Wyoming and soon Utah.

Anyway He just posted to the Geocaching.com forum about helping him pick his next state, and thought I would be great to help out get some free garmin topo maps of Wisconsin. I’m not sure exactly what Data he needs but thought maybe someone here has already downloaded it and could help out in getting Wisconsin to be his next choice for making a map.
