Hmmm. You know, I never did let my cycle classification on my driver’s license expire after the accident. Seeing how much fun you guys just had, maybe I should start looking for a bike again…
Gee, Thanks guys. After spending a ‘second honeymoon’ in the hospital together a few years ago after a biking accident, Alan and I agreed no more motorcycles in our future, well at least until the kids were grown. Looks like you have him re-evaluating that decision. Well, OK, I admit it, it sure sounds like a lot of fun to me, too. Wonder if I can carry my hiking staff on a motorcycle….
I’m sure you must have read my motorcycling page on my website so I won’t go into my history. What I didn’t put in there is that several years ago I lost the engine on an airplane I was flying and just about killed myself. After a bit of a rehab, my orthopaedist asks me if I’m going to start flying again. I told him that I was going to do something safer, buy another motorcycle.
Let’s see… because of our little geocaching cycle trip:
[*] Steve is buying a new Garmin V Map so he can more easily navigate out of downtown Manitowoc on the next trip
[*] Brian is buying a new Honda Gold Wing so he can take his wife on the next trip
[*] Alan is buying a motorcycle (Brian may be selling his old one after he buys the Gold Wing) so he can be a part of all the fun we’ll have on the next trip
[*] Arn is seeing a psychiatrist and is on several medications because of the nervous breakdowns she’s having when she thinks about Alan riding on the next trip
It’s good to see that geocaching is helping to keep the economy rolling.
I’m stocking up on the Advil and ice packs so when we go out on Tom’s Sportster with the skinny back seat, I’ll be able to walk the next day. But somehow, this seems such a small price to pay.
