Slightly off topic but definitely technology-related…does anyone know how to transfer voice mails and photos when upgrading phones? I don’t suppose there is a one-size-fits-all answer, so PM me if you need to. I am thinking since everything is digital these days, it must be fairly easy to do. Thanks for the help!
Wouldn’t voice mail be on the phone server/service and not the phone itself?
Photos can be downloaded to your computer. Often the picture files are kept on the phone in the DCIM folder but that all is dependent on the model of phone.
You plug in a micro/mini or iphone cord from there into your computer usb slot, wait for the phone to register as a storage device and then just drag the files off it onto your computer desktop.
I am wondering if there is a way to transfer the voice mail to something (a USB drive, a hard drive, a disk…) that I could keep. There are messages from family members now passed that I would like to keep. I am unclear about voice mail as right now I have a limit (not sure if it is a time limit or a number of messages limit) and do some plans allow for unlimited voice mail? I realize that is a question for a company rep but maybe there is a common knowledge about it.
I think I understand about the photos and can possibly do this even with my limited technology and knowledge thereof!
After my mom was killed, it took my dad what seemed like forever to change the answering machine message from one with her voice on it. We all dreaded calling to talk to him because he never answered the phone and it would always be her message. I think he finally just got a new machine instead learning how to change the message.
Now, we wish we still had that message to hear her.
