So this year’s Spring Daylight Savings time change has come and past….
It was a strange one for me to say the least!
So my wife and I left all the clocks and didn’t change them… we had better things to do like working on the remodeling of our basement bathroom. So after dinner we’re in the kitchen washing dishes (yes we wash them by hand) and my wife looks at all the clocks in the kitchen (there are three of them) and says.. what time is it?? I dont know, I say.. So she calls out to our middle child (who’s 9) “what time does it say on that grey box by the tv?” (our cable box automatically changes you see) She yells back 7:30! Which is the same time on all the clocks in the kitchen. Hmm… our son must have gone around and set them all forward. We did not think the stove set itself forward. The kids should be to bed around 8. About an hour later, we both realize it’s now 9:30! You see, our daughter gave her the time from the alarm clock next to our bed, not the time from the cable box… (it was a rough one this morning.. always is but it doesnt help when they go to bed late on top of it all)
So I go to work, driving all the way with my vehicle radio time wrong as I just purchased a newer vehicle and didnt know how to change the clock. (figured it out on the way home. yes I payed attention to the road) I get to work and about an hour into the day, I notice my computer clock did not change. So I manually move it ahead an hour.. that’s strange. I am on a big business network and you would have thought my time would be right. A couple hours later people are wakling by my office door as if it’s lunch time. I look at my clock and it says 11am. Nope not lunch yet… At about 11:30 I walk around and realize it’s actually 12:30. What the heck? Turns out, my laptop was set to Central America not US Central Timezone…
Ahh… the joys of Daylight Savings. (which I hear doesnt save any daylight or any electricity)

03/12/2008 at 2:31 am #1886041Is that why we had all that snow this winter? Change daylight savings time to year-round and we’ll have global warming in the winter, too?
No more snow now that we’ve gained that extra hour. Yay!
03/12/2008 at 3:07 am #1886042Because of daylight savings. I was able to get the last of 17 finds at almost 7:45 pm. The days are truly getting longer and this morning hater likes the daylight at the end of the day.
