When you’re making your holiday plans for this weekend, consider getting away from the extended family and all the uproar at home for a couple of hours. Get back to the pristine crisp outdoors, looking for hidden containers. Sit around swapping caching stories with like-minded people, and indulge in some good food and sweet treats. Even catch the Packers game, if anyone cares to watch them play after their most recent performance. 🙄
Blue_cougar54494 and Mrs. Sandlanders invite you to our event in central Wisconsin on Sunday, December 27, from 1:00 to 3:00, between Wisconsin Rapids and Plover: GC20Z79.
Hope to see you there!
12/21/2009 at 7:53 pm #1918537Unfortunately, we will be with extended family! Not to dis our fam, but your Event sounds like more fun! 😕
12/21/2009 at 8:25 pm #1918538I would like to come as well, but like jim, family things going on.
12/23/2009 at 9:19 pm #1918539Anyone comming for GC20Z79 there are about 20 caches within a 5 mile radius & within a 10 mile radius there are 135 caches to be found. So if you find yourself out caching why not stop by GC20Z79? (And get a sweet treat as well).
12/24/2009 at 12:35 am #1918540I placed another 6 traditional, easy to find, winter friendly caches today. 2 have been published and the other 4 are pending. 5 of the 6 are in the Biron area, near the event location. The sixth is at Mid-State Technical College, which is just a few miles away. See you Sunday!

Excellent! Thanks for the placements for all of us to find. Hope people aren’t too busy caching that they can’t take time to spend a couple of hours inside! 😉 Looking forward to Sunday and seeing everybody.

12/24/2009 at 1:55 am #1918545ya that is the other one…..knew there was a guy singing it but couldnt remember who.
12/26/2009 at 4:59 pm #1918546For December 27 for Wood and Portage Counties:
“Sunday: scattered snow showers or flurries. Highs 24 to 27. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40 percent.”
Sounds like a “go” for the event. Just dress for the cold and watch out on the less traveled roads if you’re doing some caching before/after the event. Nice and toasty inside. Probably lots of hot air, too! 😉
12/26/2009 at 5:10 pm #1918547Happy Birthday! We had kinda planned to come over and say it in person, but the horrible roads yesterday / last night changed our family gathering to tomorrow. We’ll be hosting relatives here in Waupaca. Hope y’all have a lot of fun!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Totally understand about changing plans due to the weather the past few days.
I am sure there will be another time & place to meet the ones who couldnt make it to this event (maybe like 99% in July 💡 💡 ).

12/28/2009 at 12:54 am #1918549A great time with fine people at the Anchor! Great to meet Blue Cougar and Mrs. Sandlanders and wish a happy birthday. Many other great conversations had along with BROASTED CHIX dinner with my sweechie. AND, the event was my 500th find. Cache on and THANKS!

You mean I can get a Smiley just by going to an event? 😯
I KNOW I drove past there sometime between 1 and 3 on the 27th. (since I only live about a mile away from Anchor Bay)
That probably doesn’t count, does it?
😛Happy belated b’day BlueCougar and Sandlanders.
I’m still working on Sandlanders “Turn a New Page” down by the boatlanding. Only like 4 or 5 attempts and an equal number of DNF’s. I suppose I’ll get it eventually. I’m determined.
I think Im the only person on that one with a DNF, and then someone comes along and calls it a Park & Grab. Embarrassing. 🙂 -
