Actually I can’t think of anywhere I can “entertain” my entire family for a day for so little money. Personally, I plan on throwing $15 or $20 in … depending on how good of a parking spot I get I’m not bragging on how generous I am … I just think everyone should think about how cheap the day is and consider accordingly … then give what your budget allows and what you feel comfortable with.

I estimate the trip will cost me (family included) $150 for the trip. Gas for the car is unfortunately a large portion of the cost. So in comparison I can think of many places to entertain the family for less but, that would not be where we would want to be.
No argument here… just thought the comment was interesting since it makes me wonder what you normally spend on a day of entertainment.
08/10/2005 at 8:56 pm #1759026PCFROG, your right, there are other expenses (travel, lodging) … But that’s true of anything involving a trip of any distance … try planning a day at Wisconsin Dells, and see how far $20 above and beyond gas and hotel gets you … but I see your point.

However, you will have to wait until your GPS-R has been uploaded with the data and you decipher the hints. *wink*

Could you make that a Elephant Tracks waffle cone instead?
08/11/2005 at 5:27 pm #1759030taking the day off from work -$200
gas 30
meals and snacks on the trip 15
batteries 2
donation 20that is an expensive day off but worth it
08/11/2005 at 7:47 pm #1759031This will actually be an average day for a caching excursion. We only have to buy one tank of gas and no stops at Culver’s. The water will cost around $10, our own lunches about the same, and with our normal $20+ donation to the box…that puts us at about $65 for the day. Plus when we consider the time we get to visit w/ friends…
(ps…no orange cone is necessary for us. We’ll just park in the grass next to the front porch!)08/11/2005 at 8:44 pm #1759032quote:
