GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU DEER HUNTERS OUT THERE AND IF YOU DON’T DEER HUNT BUT DECIDE TO GO CACHING PLEASE WHERE BLAZE ORANGE.

    Hey Tenner –

We haven’t met yet but I feel like I already know ya… We’ve been chumming around a lot lately with “What’s Next?” and the topic of “Tenner” always comes up.

Good luck to you on your hunt. Be safe! Looks like we’ll have to pack a few extra bags of ice along this year to keep the deer cool!

Geocachers – my recommendation is to take the weekend off. 400,000+ armed (and many drunk) cheeseheads out in the woods this weekend ready to shoot the first thing that moves.

Life is good, caching is GREAT and hunting is spiritual. Have a SAFE hunt!!!

Better than taking the weekend off would be to find some urban caches or do some benchmark hunting! Some of the things I’m looking forward to doing here in the winter!
Also… I’ve been wearing my Blaze Orange Hat for several weeks now and my girls always “put on their orange” before we’ve gone out. There has been gun hunters out since I found my first cache less than a month ago! Orange “safety” vests for over the top of your jacket may look stupid but a hole in your chest will look even stupider!

Just when you thought it was over, Deer hunting resumes in some areas. This weekend: 12/11 – 12/14/03, there will be a special deer hunt in some areas of the state. This 4 day hunt is designed to reduce heard numbers in areas where the traditional 9 day hunt in Nov hasn’t removed enough deer. Many areas around state, including several metro areas will be open to deer hunting.

About 1/3 of the state will be open for deer hunting. This includes, Waukesha, Milw, Racine, Kenosha, most of east-central Wisconsin, S/W Wisconsin.

Again, it’s a good idea to wear an article of blaze orange if out caching this week.

While returning from a cache on the Ice Age Trail today, I heard of charges filed against a deer hunter in Sheboygan county that shot at something moving in the twilight. He killed his friend. The time was 4:55PM and after hunting hours.

That could have been one of us killed while on a cache hunt. Blaze orange makes no difference when it is dark out. (rant about what I hope happens to this guy deleted)
