Went caching today and did “Dew it for Fun” and “Sounds Like a Puzzle”. I should have signed my logs TNLN but I guess it should have been TDTLN – Took Deer Ticks Left Nothing .
I found two on my dog on the way back home and one on myself later. Obviously they are active in this area and should not keep you away but you should make sure and check yourself and dogs carefully if you do these between now and Mid November (pretty much the end of the season).
While picking up the regular ticks is a common occurance for we geocachers in the Spring/early Summer timeframe – this is my first instance of ever picking up deer ticks while geocaching.
Anyone else out there that has found any while caching?

I was really very suprised to not have come across a tick all year……yet

Figured it must have been a bad year for the ticks, and a good year for the cachers.

Thanks to T&TB, I now know all about Coccinella septempunctata.

Out all day today and have not seen a tick yet. We must have been lucky.

They are really tiny Paul. You have to look carefully.
