For anyone attending the picnic or spending the weekend in the area and doing caches outside the park, I have a new cache 1.5 miles north of the Lapham Peak. It’s WISCONSIN VETERAN’S MEMORIAL RIVERWALK GC1G1VD. The Riverwalk connects downtown Delafield to Cushing Park to the west. The cache takes you on a tour of markers dedicated to the wars in our history. We dedicated this cache to our son, LTC Todd Taves who recently retired after 23 years in the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a speaker at the dedication of the Riverwalk in 2006 shortly after he returned from Iraq where he served as a Battalion Commander for a year. The final is a regular size cache and there is also a loggable bonus cache. There is also a great playground for kids at the west end of the riverwalk in Cushing Park. Congratulations to Blackbelts on the FTF today.
