How long should a cache remain disabled before it is archived? The reason I ask is for my own caches that seem to be having trouble with muggles. Also I have six disabled caches on my first page of caches not yet found.

If it’s your own caches that are having repeated muggle problems, I’d suggest archiving them and finding better locations.

If it’s other caches that seem to have been disabled for a long period of time, you could…

    • Write to the cache owner and see if they have any plans for re-enabling the cache
    • Wait for a bit. Occasionally, the cache reviewers sweep through the state’s disabled caches and send off emails to the owners asking them to either fix or archive the cache
    • Add the caches to your “Ignore” list

Personally, I use GSAK to sort through the caches in my area, and when I’m planning caches to do, I filter the list to only include active caches.

To answer your question, I think a couple of weeks should be more than enough time to repair a disabled cache.
