It don’t work that way. and before I get how do I have a big thumb,25 years ago, I was riding on the back of a 3-wheeler, holding on to the back handle. Ny buddy gunned it and the wheeler popped up 90 degrees.
Straight up and down. All the weight cam down on my thumbnail. It swelled up, got infected and never went down. So, my right thumb is about 1.5 times larger than my left thumb. It was like the whole bone grew.

    No knife, sometimes the gun.

Man, now I gotta see that thumb. I thought it was from fighting the KING!!!!

Generally none while caching because have been urban so far. When I’m in the woods though I generally take the Leatherman. I always have at least one knife in the car though which is normally handy if needed. Handgun (Ruger .357) is generally kept at home, but would consider carrying it if caching in the northwoods.

Ya, them Mud Ducks can get pretty mean at times around these parts.
Just wait till the Packers win next weekend. They will be down right ornery! 😯

I carry the Swiss Army Spartan. It has come in handy many times.

Whew! Never realized so many cachers were packing heat! 🙂 Anyway, we always go with the Leatherman.

On my belt I always carry a Leatherman Juice C2 which is small enough to not be in the way, but the pliers and knife are more then adequate for any need caching may pose. I also always have a 2AA Mag-Lite in a leather holster…have used it many times to look up a hollow tree or whenever it is dark.

Same one that I carry (but mines green)

and for gotta run… i carry a .357 magnum blackhawk

Well, I definitely think the Glock is easier to holster and more practical for hiking in the woods, but to each his own. 8)

Trekkin’ could carry a .65 caliber flintlock replica Tule trade gun if need be! 😉

But usually, just the bag of tricks in our little pack. Even in the north woods. Heck, those boys who grew up there can wrassle any bears with their own two hands, right?

I have it in red, blue, black, smoke black, smoke red…then about 8 other models of SAKs, a Leatherman, Gerbers, Buck knives, Ben Hibbens and lots of generic blades…but in the end I like to travel light and only bring a larger blade if I’m going deep woods…then we are talking about a fixed blade of about 6-7 inches.

No guns though…wife won’t let me play with anything dangerous….I think it may have something to do with her seeing how I operate power tools…(there is usually bleeding involved—stupid hedge trimmer).

I carry an Masters of Defense Automatic, James Keating Hornet. But then I don’t just carry it for caching, it’s on me whenever I leave the house.

I carry the same knife as the Balks. Julie found it on the ground while we were hiking the John Muir trail in the KM.

I carry a Victorinox multi-tool. I don’t believe I have ever needed it. A couple bikers asked if I had a multi-tool and I let them use it. If the need ever arises, for just about any need with this particular tool, at least I will be prepared. It is significantly heavy however. It is always in my day pack, which I never leave to go Geocaching without.
