are the areas where caches will be hidden open to dogs? what about the campfire and pancake area?

My reply is based off of DNR rules and past events.
DNR says pets are not allowed at:
Buildings
Picnic areas and picnic shelters
Beaches, except the designated “dogs allowed” beaches listed above.
Playgrounds
Marked nature trails
Cross-country ski trails when groomed for skiing
Observation towers
Now at past events I have seen the following:
Pancake area off limits because it usually in a shelter which by DNR rules is a no no.
Campfire is fine since it is not a public picnic area but one individually reserved by the WGA.
Caches are hit and miss. DNR says Marked NATURE trails. This up to interpretation. I have seen trails marked NATURE trail therefore pets must not be allowed. However trails marked bike or hiking are fine.
Surre others might have thier own views. Main thing to me is pets should be controlled and if (uhmm) off leash should not be bugging others. 🙂
I think the dogs will be fine for the whole event, except the picnic area where we are based on Saturday.
Campfire and Pancake breakfast are at the group sites, so yes, dogs are allowed.
Remember, dogs are required to be on a leash at all times.
I’m bringing my dog along 🙂
I am glad to here that this is going to be a “geo-dog-friendly” event. We have just got to bring “our big sweetie”, she loves caching, well to be fair, she LOVES everything.
