I know there is usually a spot where people start listing what they are going to bring, so I thought I’d start the list.
I’m bringing a couple nice big Birthday Cakes!
😀

04/02/2008 at 4:54 pm #1887282maybe a list of what is needed is required as well. Does the campout committee have one for us?
04/29/2008 at 3:01 am #1887283Bumping… What ya need Campout crew???

Assuming I’m there as planned (if the weather is predicted to be absolutely lousy I’m not wasting that much gas money) I will not-so-gladly get up early to gladly serve breakfast to the geocaching community. I couldn’t think of a better crew of breakfast chefs to spend my morning with! So, you can count me in as a fair weather helper.
04/30/2008 at 2:52 am #1887286We are also typically looking for donations of bottled water & charcoal for the grills for Saturday Lunch. Any assistance would be appreciated.
05/03/2008 at 8:39 pm #1887287GrouseTales wrote in another forum topic that there are too few hands doing the work this year. For those of us who can’t make the cache hiding tomorrow, how else can we volunteer for the event? What needs to be done?
05/07/2008 at 2:49 am #1887288Still need donations of charcoal and bottled water….
05/07/2008 at 3:28 am #1887289Well, mark me down for a case of water….. but only if I get to log an extra temp cache…..8O
05/07/2008 at 5:06 pm #1887290We’ll bring some charcoal.
On that subject, is there another place besides the dinky little grocery store in Dodgeville, where we can shop for food and charcoal when we get there?
We stayed in Dodgeville last year when visiting House on the Rock, and there wasn’t much more in that town than a small grocer, a 1 screen theater and a Ford dealer. Oh yeah, forgot the fancy shmancy PizzHut!
We loved the town, there just wasn’t much there.
05/07/2008 at 6:46 pm #1887291There’s now a Wal-Mart in Dodgeville on the east side. If I remember correctly, I think it is a super center so there would be groceries.
05/07/2008 at 6:52 pm #1887292There is a local grocery chain store, I believe it’s called Dick’s. They have stores in smaller communities, it’s comparable to Piggly Wiggly. Sunshine’s brother lives in Ridgeway and they do all of their shopping there. His wife is a gourmet cook so it must have adequate supplies.
05/07/2008 at 6:54 pm #1887293There’s also a Farm & Fleet if any of the guys need a shopping fix!
05/08/2008 at 4:45 pm #1887294Sweet deal, thanks all.
I did a quick search in the Garmin just now, and there is a Dick’s Super in Dodgeville as well as a Walmart.
I’m going to make a few calls this afternoo and this evening to find out if any of the local stores sell organic foods. There are a bunch of little Mom&Pop type stores in the area, so chances are good. I’ll post back my findings if anyone is interested.
