Please don’t put stuff with liquid in it, in caches! Those little games with the floating balls, for example, are bad news when the freeze and break in winter.

This past weekend we found Phormisidz (GCGD30), which had been unreachable and untouched since November. There was a cracked/leaking little toy, in what was otherwise a water tight cache container … that trapped water did a number on other things in the container (which I took care of) … it’s bad enough when a container leaks, with out setting a winter time bomb in there.

Ooh- guess the mini magic 8’s aren’t any good then either. Thanks for the info.

Depends on what the liquid is that’s in the 8 balls, I suppose. I’m assuming somethings don’t have water in them … but then again the makers of these thing don’t want to poison any one, buy expensive chemical, nor did they think there stuff would be left to freeze in the woods.

Maybe if you have something (like an 8 ball) that you really, really wish to put in a cache … slip it in a small zip lock bag first.

or test it by throwing it in your freezer for a few days.

Should I stick it all in a metal/ plastic container and see which does better?

… then make sure you have absolutely where the freezer is, except that there seems to be a deer trail running through your kitchen.

I meant “absolutely no idea where the freezer is”, NOT “absolutely where the freezer is” … would of been much funnier had I gotten it right the first time.

and put lots of sticks over the freezer, too. either that, or wrap it in camo tape.

    no camo tape!
our freezer is in the laundry room (at least I think that’s where my wife hid it) … you know that special masking tape for “lint rollers” … da’ wife is sneaky, she put some of that tape (used of course) on the freezer, now the darn thing blends in with all the dusty bunnys floating around by the dryer.
