01/17/2010 at 1:18 am #1920042Anybody having to sign back in after spending a few minutes looking at a cache page? I looked over two caches pages and had to sign in three times. Yes, I am a premium member.

Not exactly the same situation for me, but similar. I often click a new tab to open several cache pages. Or sometimes open a new window. Usually I have to sign in again on the new window, but not on a new tab. However, I have been logged out on random occasions on a new tab. If I go back to another where I am logged in and try to log my visit, I will have to relog in.
01/28/2010 at 4:46 pm #1920044I’ve had two fellow cachers email in the last week asking if I was having problems with pages on GC.com. I’m not. One said that the “Map it” lonk was not working for them. The were getting an error message on a green screen. I’m not sure what the other one problems are. Browser, Updates, Java????
01/29/2010 at 6:26 pm #1920045I’m having trouble getting to the “State” page under “Seek a Cache” – also having trouble using a “Zipcode” search. I keep getting a message that “Internet Explorer can’t open this Internet Site”. I’m not a techno-geek, so I don’t have clue if this is part of the problems/improvements with the Geocaching.com site – or if it is an incompatibility with my version of Internet Explorer. I do however see the problem with my computer at work and at home. It is limiting my ability to search for caches by anything less than the exact name of the cache.
Send Help!

I doubt if this will help, but it is worth a try, as it works for me–I too get the IE can’t open message on the zip code search, and I just retype the zip code and try again. It has always worked the second time. Sorry I can’t offer any real techno-advice.
01/30/2010 at 12:17 am #1920047If you are using IE 6.0, I have started to hear rumblings that it is out of the “test browser” set due to low popularity. (I still have it on this machine.) Try either upgrading to the current version or switching to Firefox, Chrome, or Safari. If you are stuck on a corporate workstation, well, I suspect you will be upgraded “real soon now”.

GC is going to do some work on Tuesday…
Scheduled Downtime, Tuesday, February 23
On Tuesday, February 23rd starting at 8 PM Pacific Time (GMT -8), we’ll be performing upgrades to the Geocaching.com database server in anticipation of spring and summer geocaching traffic. The scheduled maintenance is expected to take 4 hours. We’ll post updates to the Groundspeak forum during this time.
