A friend of mine just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 350 but he’s thinking of returning it because it does not record any track data, which he wants to export to Google Earth. He owns a handheld, but he likes the ease of use of the Nuvi for car use. Does anyone know of a car unit that can record and export tracks?
Ken, the Garmin Nuvi 760 can do this. Exports the track into MapSource nicely.

Track functionality (to and from the unit) is supported on the 7xx, 8xx, and 5000 series Nuvi units. I suppose Garmin thinks this is something that wouldn’t be used by the average automotive users.
