The Mayor made the front page of my local newspaper in Marinette today. I’ll scan a copy and post it later. The article is not online unless I have a subscription – which I don’t lol.
01/31/2012 at 5:58 pm #1955353The online worked for me. Here it is….
http://ehextra.com/01/31/2012 at 9:14 pm #1955354Here we go again. 200 Steeler votes in the last hour 🙄
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
01/31/2012 at 11:40 pm #1955355My guess (actualy Rick Blick’s guess) of what is happening is that the students gave their logon/passwords to Mr. Steele. Right after school, Mr. Steele and possibly a handful of volunteers vote for all of the students. This would also explain why they aren’t dropping off so much on the weekends.
One more thing that would be explained is the drop off of smack talk by the students.I am almost certain that 400 students aren’t waiting around after school, standing in line waiting to get on a computer to vote…
01/31/2012 at 11:51 pm #1955356I don’t know what the school’s computer usage policies there might be, but that would get us fired from the jobs we just retired from.
Sadly, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to ethical behavior or lack thereof. Go get ’em, Mayor!
02/01/2012 at 12:56 am #1955357Monday saw an increase of 250 votes for Pennsyl. I know how much campaigning we have to do to pick up 160 votes, and that really borders on the impossible . . . if they are all legit.
He caught up by 69 votes with that 250 vote jump. The newspaper in Marinette plus some other campaigning will hold him off a little, but if he is able to manufacture 250 new votes each day, he will be even probably end of day Thursday. Of course, he won’t have time to sleep any more, given the amount of time it takes to create that many new accounts, and then vote the accumulated total every day.
This sure is fun – isn’t it!!
Thanks again for the votes and continued support!
Rick Wiltzius02/01/2012 at 1:29 am #1955358It is fascinating to watch…you are up consistently by about 600-650 during the day.
Then right after 4pm, it’s like the odometer spins up and that lead drops to 200, then levels off.
It does lead one to think there is a small army of “vote” enterers.
Do you have plans for any more campaigning, and what do you think will come of the paper vote issue?
It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday considering that most of his vote pickup comes in the afternoon, and voting ends at 5:30 I believe?
EDIT: Been watching for the last 30 minutes. No votes for Steele came in. Not. One. Hmmmm…..
Interesting article…I like the choice of the word “steal”–I know the paper didn’t mean it literally but: http://my.hsj.org/Schools/Newspaper/tabid/100/view/frontpage/schoolid/4439/articleid/490668/newspaperid/4708/Steele_strives_to_steal_grand_prize.aspx

Ummmmmmm in the statement ” Steele also said that if each student votes at least once a day, it would easily propel him into first place.” taken from the above mentioned article does this mean he is asking the students to vote more then once a day????
02/01/2012 at 2:04 am #1955360My students wanted me to keep a running tally on the white board in class, so I put up “Rick W – XXXXX
Rick S – XXXXX”Of course, being fifth graders, they couldn’t remember which Rick was which, so I took a cue from geocaching and drew a 🙂 next to Rick W and a 🙁 next to Rick S 😆

It could certainly be read that way…
Really, the fact that this is as close as it is, is amazing, given the advantages he has in his voting demographic.
On the Left Side of the Road...02/01/2012 at 12:25 pm #1955362Total votes for Pennsyl yesterday; 1326
Total votes for Lambeau Mayor; 1210He only had a vote increase of 31 votes from the previous day, but we still lost 116 votes from our lead.
My brother has been campaigning door to door nearly every day down in Stevens Point, I made one campaign stop yesterday, and also dropped in 45 more paper ballots. People at work seem to be kicking it up a notch, as I have 60 paper ballots to drop today!
If you read into the comments on the voting page, I think Joe Kuhar (the finalist from Janesville), is now voting for us. Just not sure how many of his votes he is able to swing our way. His comment “we need to keep this in the state” suggests he is helping.
Our 454 vote lead will only last 4 days, and there are 5 days left of the voting, if he manages 116 more votes each day.
Thanks for your part in reaching a 1200+ vote day (Who’d have thought that possible after our total votes on Jan 1st were 130? and we were in the lead!)
02/01/2012 at 3:35 pm #1955363Your current lead is about 550 and has been there steadily since 4 am this morning. It will be interesting to watch what happens after 4pm…the new “witching hour.”
I normally don’t get all excited about this type of stuff, but something smells in Pennsylvania, and it ain’t just Pittsburgh…and I don’t like it. Play fair or don’t play.

Four hours to the magical vote explosion!

On the Left Side of the Road...02/01/2012 at 7:30 pm #1955366What do I get for vote # 23200?
