Perhaps someone has suggested this already a while back but I don’t recall.

There are quite a few regular (monthly) event caches these days. I’m wondering if it might be prudent to put a link to these once posted on gc.com in the Event section of WGA.

Even though these aren’t “official” WGA events I find it cumbersome to have to find info I need about the particular event. Perhaps you could put in a subsection of “non sponsored WGA events” if that is a/the concern.

    Thanks!

Great idea Tony! Actually, I’m in the process of revamping the Events page as part of setting up a new registration system for the 2004 campout. As part of this change, I’ll incorporate a way to add links to non-WGA sponsored events. If we want to get ambitious, we could also allow non-WGA sponsored events to use our registration system (it would make it easier for others to tally up the planned attendees).

I’d also love to talk offline about the member registration info. If you could somehow ask that they enter their geocaching.com username exactly as they originally registered with geocaching.com, it could help me out with my stats page I’m building. We could even have a small icon next to WGA members. Also, once I’ve completed the majority of the stats code, I would love to either skin it to be like wi-geocaching.com or let you have access to run the stats yourself on the site. I hope my hard work will give something back to the sport that I’ve grown to love and enjoy.
