I’d like to see what kind of feed back I get by suggesting that we have a Geocaching Event in Lacrosee. I know that there are a few cachers in the immediate area and there are quite a few more near by that don’t mind the traveling. I was thinking that it’d just be a ‘get to know ya’ kind of thing. An opportunity to match faces with names. Totally family friendly. We could have it in Onalaska/Lacrosse on either a Saturday or a Sunday. Nothing too complicated. Just a chance to swap TB’s/coins and meet some new people. What do you think Lacrosee cachers???
02/14/2007 at 2:57 am #1770217I have been thinking of when might be warm enough to be nice and looking at some shelters at county parks. What is everyones time line? How about April 1st? 1PM till a cook out dinner? Pam
02/14/2007 at 1:09 pm #1770218โ Who would be willing to place a cache or two within 15- 20 miles area around the the shelter/place and not list them till a couple days before the event so we have some new caches to go to? This would require some of us to postpone our lust/addiction for caches, otherwize it might be like already finding all the Easter eggs before the day of the Easter hunt ๐ Pam
02/14/2007 at 11:48 pm #1770219I’m game, it’s just always hit or miss whether we’ll both be around on any given weekend. If we are around, we’ve been wanting to place a cache anyway, so this would be a good reason to settle on something and do it.
I know the last weekend of April is out of the question, cause that’s a big storytelling event for me. There are probably other weekends when Trekkin’ wants to go on some trek or other, but we’ll keep watching this thread.
02/15/2007 at 12:36 am #1770220I’ve got plenty of caching containers just begging to be placed. I did the same thing before the Event I hosted in Winona. I placed three caches and didn’t submit them for approval till after the Event. That chance for a FTF gets alot of peoples attention.
02/15/2007 at 2:03 am #1770221Hey, We can delay gratification, LOL. There are so many new caches popping up around here, we can’t keep up.
It would help if we could be a bit more single-minded about caching, but too many competing interests at work here.
We were thinking with several caches in the country park on Neshonoc, it might be fun to place something over on the other side of the lake, at Swarthout Park. Also, there’s a nice location across the highway near the dam just begging for some attention.
02/15/2007 at 2:07 am #1770222How about March 11
or
April 18th
Pam
02/15/2007 at 2:10 am #1770223March 11th sounds good. I’d like to set up something kind of informal to see what kind of turn out we’d get, then think about getting a shelter in the spring. What about a place? Something not too smoky maybe? ๐ฅ
02/15/2007 at 2:12 am #1770224I’ll be in Lacrosse Sunday doing some caching. I’ll try to scope out some places for a bumch of cachgers to get together. After the Event in Winona, we all just met at Perkins…. just an idea.
02/15/2007 at 1:11 pm #1770225๐ Sunday 3PM at Nutbush to meet and talk. Sounds great. I will contact some cachers in the area to see if they want to meet and talk about an event. Pam
02/16/2007 at 4:54 pm #1770226An event sounds good. Count the PCFrog gang in.
02/16/2007 at 5:22 pm #1770227How about a BYO caching event… some predetermined Saturday morning, plant a temp and bring the coordinates to a breakfast gathering at Old Country Buffet. Then everybody can seek each others temp caches. Whoo-hoo what fun. ๐
02/16/2007 at 9:28 pm #1770228hey there Gusty Winds… I love the idea, but may I modify it just a little? How about doing it at night. Caching at night is awesome. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a shot!
p.s. No micros ๐
