On the new website it’s difficult to find when/where the events are.  I gave up the first time I looked for them but admittedly didn’t invest much time.  This time, with a little persistence, I found them.  After clicking on EVENTS, I expected to see a listing of geocaching events.  But no.  So then I tried EVENTS MAP.  But like it plainly says, it’s a map of events, not a listing of events.  So then I tried MY BOOKINGS.  No results there.  You have to select CATEGORIES.  I really didn’t care about categories (does anybody?), and never really thought about events being grouped by categories.  I just wanted a list of events.  They used to be right on the home page.  After selecting categories, I had four options, which can be a bit confusing.  I just want a glimpse of all events.  So I reasoned, correctly, WISCONSIN EVENTS.  Bingo, there they are!

My suggestion is that the selections in the drop down menu under EVENTS be changed from four choices to five.  In addition to “Submit Event,”  “Upcoming Events Map,” “My Bookings,” and “Categories,” perhaps add “All Events.”  The less clicks the better!

I just check the calendar on the upper right of most initial pages.  If you want to see all the WGA Pi Day events, click on March 14, and they all show up in a list.  Same thing for April 25 and 26 for all the CITO events.  Want to make sure you don’t miss anything?  Just click on the blue dates for the next couple of weeks, and you’ll see what is happening where.

If you wish to see just a list of events, click on Events on the bat above between WGA MODULES and INFO CENTER….and then…that’s it.

It will bring up the list of all events yet to happen. You’ll have to click through the different pages or do as Mrs Sandlanders emntioned, click on the calendar.

Doh!  Thanks Chris, I see now how to access the events list in one click.  The tabs to the left (WGA Modules) and right (Info Center) next to the Events tab do nothing when you click directly on them.  You have to scroll through their drop down menus.  Evidently the Events tab functions differently; it will show events by clicking directly on it, without having to go through the menu.  I was hovering the mouse cursor over the events tab to scroll through the dropdown menu like the other tabs.

I have had no problems checking here, but I also look on geocaching.com. Some take a while to get on the WGA site. There is a new one at Magnolia Bluff on 3-28 that was just published today.

I bookmarked the newest caches in Wisconsin, and the events are all listed first if they haven’t happened yet.  Right after the events are the newest published caches by dates listed on the cache pages (most recent first).

Events are updated usually 2 times a week (Sun and Wednesday)   If you have not noticed, we have been adding the MEGA events to the list now too.

    Hello,

I was wondering when and where the WGA’s 15th annual Geo-Campout, would be?

I don’t see it listed in the upcoming events.

Any reason an order confirmation from last years camp out was just re-sent? Good news that maybe as you are about to reopen the store you were testing things and this was just a happy error?

Motion has passed for a location and date but until we get the shelter and campsite reserved we’ll hold off making it official. Should be able to make it known later today.
