We own a puzzle cache with an evince link. Once in a while, a cacher sends an e-mail stating that evince won’t verify his solution, and then proceeds to give the correct coordinates for us to verify. Of course, we go to the cache page and check the coordinates with evince and get a confirmation. Has anyone else experienced this? We’ve redone the link twice and this still seems to happen occasionally, although the cache does get found without issue a majority of the time.

I use evince on all 14 of my puzzles and have never had the issue before. Also, I can’t say I’ve ever had the problem after solving a puzzle either.

Maybe try contacting Evince for support. 🙂

My problem with evince is that I can not ‘see’ the code it wants entered. The script evince uses is way too wavy for me ………

Well, we were discussing this today, and maybe the explanation is more low-tech. With more people using Blackberries and iPhones and accessing the internet on the fly, perhaps the chance of entering the numbers into evince incorrectly increases. Of course, that locks you out for a time and perhaps some don’t have the patience for a second try.
