The only time I went outside since Sunday night was to take the dog outside for a minute or two. So did all of my WGA friends survive the last few days? Any of you crazy enough to go out caching?

I suppose if someone’s properly dressed for those conditions, one could go caching. We chose not to be one of those folks. Knitting, reading, practicing our musical instruments and doing some cleaning kept us busy.

I should add that I once suffered severe frostbite walking two blocks in such weather. Not only do I respect this kind of weather, that incident has led to a greater likelihood I’ll get frostbite more easily. I was dressed appropriately, but apparently the tiny areas of my exposed face under the scarves was not enough. My skin literally was frozen icy white in that short time.

Survived and managed to do quite a bit of caching as I didn’t have the lil hippies with me 😉

Since my vehicle wasn’t cooperative in the cold (even though it is kept in the garage), it was all I could manage to get to and from work. However, several of my co-workers had vehicles that didn’t work at all, so I became the designated taxi for those who keep the same schedule as I do. They keep saying how nice it was of me…nah…I am just currying favor for the future when I will no doubt need similar assistance. 😉

Worked all week so far in this weather, just have to dress warm and stay out of the wind.

Didn’t do any caching since there weren’t any close to home to find, but we did go outside quite a few times in the last week. It wasn’t that bad if you were dressed properly.

I only did three blue park n grabs on Sunday. My dermatologist told me not to go out in the cold because my skin graft would be especially susceptible to frost bite.

Valley – Need to work on the cache page though.

We cached in Iowa over the weekend, in low wind chills. The temp on the last find Sunday evening was 5 below. Thank goodness it was a quick find.

Monday thru Wednesday though I just stayed indoors and tried to stay warm and played with Lauryn. Caching is a lot less fun when your hands are cold. You can dress for the cold, but you still have to take your gloves off to work the gps and sign the logbook, and it is just a lot less fun when the temps are below zero.
