Is there a list of Wisconsin Facebook pages for Geocaching?

If not, could folks post them here:

The following are Facebook GROUPS.  Facebook groups allow members to have instant access to posting messages, creating new topics, reply to messages, and post/create photo albums.  It does not include Facebook PAGES (such as the one that the WGA has), which do not allow creation/posting of photo albums or instant access to creating new messages. With pages, however, one can reply to topics already created by the admins.

Geocachers in Wisconsin (public group, 898 members)

Wild Bunch Geocachers (private group, 288 members, for SE Wisconsin)

Lonely Cache Game – WGA (public group, 122 members, fairly active)

WGA Lonely Cache Game (public group, 63 members, not as active)

Coulee Region Cachers (private group, 288 members, for Coulee region in W/SW Wisconsin)

BCCC Belle City Coffee Clutch (private group, 75 members, for Racine/Kenosha/SE Wisconsin)

Fox Valley Geocachers (public group, 155 members, for Fox Valley area)

Northeast Wisconsin Geocaching (public group, 131 members, for NE Wisconsin)

Central Wisconsin Geocachers (private group, 102 members, for Central Wisconsin)

Chippewa Valley Geocaching (public group, 110 members, for Chippewa Valley)

Stateline Geocachers (private group, 134 members, for Northern Illinois & Southern Wisconsin)

Wausau Area Cachers (private group, 17 members, for Wausau Area)

Indeed, that is an impressive list.

I’m surprised to see so many private groups….and so many groups in general. I see why the WGA site is taking a hit on visits.

I’m not that savvy with the facebook. How can we make the WGA have a greater presence on it? It seems to me that we as an organization have not really kept pace with the social media changes.

…Sounds like maybe we need a GROUP rather than a PAGE if I’m reading Johns post correctly.

I agree with that statement.  I know it was talked about previously, but apparently no traction.

The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

I suspect that if the WGA had created a Facebook group rather than a Facebook page, most of those FB groups would never had even existed; others would be quite small for regional locals only. But as it is right now if someone wants to instantly post a geocaching-related message, one would have to go to one of those above mentioned groups.

An advantage of a private group is that only members of that group can see the messages.  It remains muggle free.

There’s a new one to add to the list. Someone created Dane County Wisconsin Geocaching Group yesterday. It’s private with just 15 members so far, but that’s not bad for being about a day old.

My comments are mine alone and may not necessarily reflect an official stance of the WGA Board of Directors.

    I’m one of the 15….

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

You don’t live in Dane County 😀

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

    Nope, but I cache there . . .
