These photos sent to me by my Pittsburgh cyber buddy. I have never seen anything like them, with a little explanation on each.

Monticello Dam California ..Shows the sinkhole drain (left corner) for the resevoir. Has anyone see this one?

This one is a Diamond Mine and consider a no fly zone.. Helicopters get sucked in. Really? The Red arrow is a truck that uses the road to descend. WOW …… a little scary for me. There must be others… Thanks for sharing.. I’m learning lots of new stuff on your great WEB.

I’m not sure that either can be considered a sink hole. The first pic of the damn appears to be an overflow to take on water during a flood.

The second just seems to be a mine, nothing more. And, I would bet I could fly a kite over and not get it sucked in. 😀

Perhaps you are right … all I did was to google “Sinkholes in the world” This one was identified as a Sinkhole” (one filled with water)….

This one was called “The Great Blue Hole of Belize.. in Central America 60 miles off the mainland. I guess there are all kinds of “sinkholes” whether man made or one by nature. I’m sure there are others?

It sure is… used my little brownie camera .. (not really) I was shocked too. Here is another a little closer to home.

This is the Bingham Canyon Mine in UTAH, the World’s Largest, started in 1863 and 3/4 mile deep… It is still active. I wonder if it’s a Tourist attraction? … 8) … 8)

Here is an inside view of that Bingham Canyon Copper Mine.

Not so easy to get this photo.. had to travel through a couple of gallery sites… The Copper coloring is really beautiful.
