I’m closing in on cache number 100 and would like to find a great one for the milestone. What are some of your favorite caches near Madison? I’m looking for something within 75 miles or so.

I don’t know what type of caches you like, but some of my favorites near Madison (in no particular order) are:
The Rock (GC6670)
Sweet Dreams (GCR1T4)
Tunnel of Terror!!! (GCYQAX)
Magnolia Bluff (GC65B) & spelunking in magnolia (GCQRXZ)
Dane County Mountain Climbing (GCVENG)
Leopold Legacy: May (GCKAKC) – all Leopold Legacy caches I’ve done have been nice cachesHope this helps.
04/16/2007 at 9:14 pm #1873241I’m thinking of doing Tunnel of Terror for my 700th.
04/17/2007 at 12:47 am #1873242I generally like caches that take a while to get to and take me someplace interesting. I did The Rock and Tunnel of Terror last week. Both were excellent. LightningBugs Mum, Tunnel of Terror is definitely worthy of a milestone.

04/17/2007 at 2:10 pm #1873244Hemlock Draw is the type of cache I’d like to do for #100. The only problem is that I already found it. 🙁

Given the type of caches you like, and that you liked the Tunnel of Terror and the Rock, I’d move Dane County Mountain Climbing to the top of the list, followed by either suggestion in Magnolia Bluff, then any of the Leopold series that you haven’t found yet.

I did spelunking in magnolia for my #100. It was ok. I did the five others that were in the park as well. Later in the day I found Rubens cave and I wish I would have done that one earlier for my #100. That was a great hide and a nice hike to get to.
