Now I will have even less reason to watch the Packers instead of geocaching… 😀 😀 🙂 😮 😮 🙁 🙁 😡 😡
03/04/2008 at 3:51 pm #1885498I knew this time would come, but one more year would have been great. I never got to see him play in person. 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥
03/04/2008 at 3:56 pm #1885499Excuse a person who is not a football enthusiast: YEAH!!!!
At least there won’t be six months of: Will he? Won’t he? Will he? Won’t he? Will he? Won’t he?
I will not put down any of Farve’s accomplishment’s – he’s done great things for the Packers! I just got real tired of the the “Will he? Won’t he?” scenario for the last several years!
03/04/2008 at 4:11 pm #1885500First Lance now Favre…I cry a tear for each.
😥 😥03/04/2008 at 5:44 pm #1885501The start of a new Era has begun…..
03/04/2008 at 5:48 pm #1885502I almost ran him over once. What memories….
03/04/2008 at 9:15 pm #1885503He always said he wanted to go out on top so I’m not surprised. Just glad his last season was so great.
I saw in play in person once. Seriously, I started to tear up a little when he ran out onto the field at Lambeau because I knew this was a special one-time thing for me. Then the Pack got creamed by …..*shudder*…… the Viqueens. Ugh.
03/04/2008 at 11:58 pm #1885504For any of you with children under the age of 20 or 21; they only know Favre as the Packer’s QB.
I’m just glad I was able to see Favre in two regular season games:
1) 1/4/97 35-14 Victory over San Francisco at Lambeau on their march to the Super Bowl. GREAT GAME!!!
2) 11/27/03 Thanksgiving loss to the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. CRAPPY GAME!!I sure am glad I’m a Packer fan!! Watching Favre sure was a fun.
03/05/2008 at 12:02 am #1885505I saw him play two weeks after his dad died and we got into the playoffs due to another teams loss….the game was nothing short of amazing.
03/05/2008 at 12:17 am #1885506I only got to see a few games. The last being the game against the Chiefs a few years back, at Lambeau.
One thing is for sure, not matter if it was a Win, or a Loss, it was always Interesting, and kept you on the edge of your seat. Didn’t get to watch that many games this year, as it appeared that evertime I watched the game, they lost!! So I listened on the radio. Would of loved to have been at the Playoff game against the Seahawks with the Huge snow storm going on! That would of been a game!!!!!
Thanks for all the Memories!!

I’ve only been to two games at Lambeau. One against the Jets and one against the Bears. I think Dickey was still QB then. 😯 😯 😯

03/05/2008 at 4:00 am #1885508Was listening to razor 94.7 this morning when the announcement came out, they were asking for requests for songs about farves retirement,
My request was never played
Metallica’s SO WHAT
Dont let your cheeze heads melt now, the packers will suck for the next 30 some odd years then will have a moment of brillance again and make it to super bowl again somewhere around 2038

Now Barry……how would you feel if it was Jeff Gordon, or JR or whoever your favorite NASCAR driver is? For me,Farve has been the only QB for the Packers during my adult life. Am I sorry to see him retire, not really. Did he make my pacemaker kick in when he dropped back and let it fly, you bet. Brett Farve was to the NFL what Dale Earnhart SR was to NASCAR(short of his untimely death). You either loved them or hated them. But they were/are both an icon to their sport.
03/06/2008 at 2:04 pm #1885511My dad called to tell me the news yesterday morning. The conversation pretty much went…
Him: Did you hear?
Me: Hear what?
Him: Favre retired.
Silence…..
Me: Ok bye.
I couldn’t talk, I didn’t want to talk to anyone. My office is 90% Packer fans…it was odd, the most quiet I have ever heard it around here.
I am 28, he has been the qb since I was 12. I grew up with him under center, and he is the only Packers qb I have ever known. I vaguely remember Don (the Majik man) Majkowski, but Brett took over during my formative years.
I feel very fortunate that I was able to see him play about once or twice a year since 1993, even when I was living in lower Michigan (only about an 8 hour drive one way to Lambeau), and even got to see him coming out of the locker room while my wife, my mom, my dad, and I were on the Lambeau tour during training camp.
I suddenly feel a lot older this week. Wow
