So I had this brilliant idea on the way home, and now I’m curious. If you want to comment on what you think, and would rate for more difficult ratings that would be great also.

I’m good with Trig and know a bit of Calc also.

In the field, I’d want the basics. I can do the other stuff, but need to give myself those wonderful refresher courses and time to play with the numbers, since they aren’t a part of my daily life anymore.

I skip any puzzles that require more than basic math.

Shot way back when Ah yes I think I can remember that far back but anyways when I was in school all we needed to graduate was one year of basic math and since I hated math guess what thats all I took. Make me do more and I will just ignore it.

I agree with Birdin’. No way for field solvable. Maybe some basic geometry, VERY basic trig, no calculus. (And I got my degree in math.)

I bet there will be some black light, alien, calculus fun in the near future.

Basic math is for the field. Teave the other math for a home solve with a geo checker.

i’m good with my 5’s. After that i run out of fingers and toes.

Being a math teacher, I also voted for basic math. When I am out in the field, I don’t want to have to think that hard. Now for at home solves, make it as difficult as you want.

I voted Calculus, but that doesn’t mean I think it is appropriate. Unless you are placing a cache at the home of Isaac Newton, I fail to see how such a puzzle would serve to highlight the location. Remember that this game is all about location. I don’t need to drive across the state to solve a crossword puzzle. They are in the paper every day.

I am suprised how many trig and calc votes there were, but rest assured there will not be any sw wisconsin caches that require either in the field, from me atleast. Thank you all for the comments, they were very helpful in figuring out what direction to take this idea.
